Polos and tees are what most people actually wear to work, whatever else is in the wardrobe. They are also the garments most often branded, so it pays to think about how a fabric takes embroidery before you commit to a crew order.

Cotton, polyester or a blend

Cotton breathes best and feels better against the skin, but holds sweat and takes longer to dry. Polyester wicks moisture and dries fast, which is why most sports-style work polos use it. A poly-cotton blend splits the difference and is usually the right call for general site work — comfortable enough to wear all day, tough enough to survive the wash cycle.

Which fabrics take embroidery well

Heavier pique knits and blends hold a stitched logo cleanly. Very lightweight or highly technical performance fabrics can pucker around dense embroidery, so a printed logo often looks better on those. If you are unsure, send us the artwork and we will tell you which option suits the garment you have picked.

Short sleeve, long sleeve and sun exposure

Long sleeve polos are not just a winter garment — for outdoor crews they are the simplest sun protection going, and far more likely to be worn than sunscreen reapplied every two hours. Look for ranges with a UPF rating if your team works outside most of the day.

Sizing across a crew

Polo sizing varies a lot between brands, and men’s and women’s cuts are not interchangeable. If you are ordering for a team, get a size set in first rather than guessing — it is far cheaper than reordering half the batch. We can hold sizing samples for you.
